Newsletter – February 2021
“As for me, I will behold thy face in righteousness: I shall be satisfied, when I awake, with thy likeness” (Ps. 17:15). My personal theme for 2021 is “Enough.” It is easy sometimes to focus on things we don’t have and forget to be thankful for the blessings God has given us. If we have God, we have enough.
I am very thankful for God’s blessings and protection throughout 2020, both personally and in ministry. Through the Easter tornado and flooding, Dad’s heart attack and successful 4-way bypass surgery, the coronavirus pandemic, a canceled mission trip, canceled retreats and other events, national elections and unrest – God was still faithful. Our office had only minor damage from the tornado, and the flood waters did not enter the building. Dad is doing much better after his surgery. After testing positive for Covid in September, I had only minor symptoms and was able to continue working in ministry online from home. In October, I joined several of our ladies for a retreat at the Bill Rice Ranch in Murfreesboro, TN. It was a wonderful time of spiritual refreshment.
SWM received much increased exposure on the internet from people around the world watching our videos. I helped post lessons and communicated with people through social media messaging and commenting and the new SWM website chat system. I am also excited that God added 4 new missionary families to the SWM team last year – Ben & Marie Muldoon (Romania), two single ladies, Monique Lindsey and Carrie Whaley (Liberia), and SWM intern J.T. Gorham, a recent graduate from Pensacola Christian College. J.T. spent several months at the Home Office, learning and assisting in many areas. Among other things, he helped with orders, posted articles on our website, interpreted, assisted with maintenance, and filled in for me while I was quarantined at home. In November, he was officially approved as a missionary with the SWM mission team. In December he was ordained to the gospel ministry by his home church, Broadway Baptist, Paducah, Kentucky. He is hard-of-hearing/deaf and has a special burden for Deaf young people in the United States.
In November, I received a huge blessing when God provided a house for me – just down the street from another SWM missionary couple! No more renting! I am so grateful for my family, who drove down from Tennessee numerous times to help paint, fix, and get it ready to live in. I’m also thankful for the friends who helped me move into my new house and provided vehicles and food for the “moving crew.” I have really enjoyed getting things set up and making the house feel like “home.” I’m excited to see how God will use this to minister to others through hospitality.
It will be interesting to see what this new year holds. During the first week of 2021, Mrs. Diane Barr and I helped a Deaf lady pack for her move closer to our ministry here in Trenton. A few days later, I received a video call from the same lady after someone hit her car in a Walmart parking lot. I interpreted for her after the police arrived – from my living room on my cell phone! It is amazing what we can do with technology!
Mission Trip Opportunity!

On July 10-17, 2021, I am planning to participate in the Silent Word Ministries International outreach team to the Deaf Nation World Expo. We will be witnessing and distributing free Gospel literature to Deaf people from all over the world. What an incredible opportunity! I am asking for your help.
The DeafNation World Expo is conducted every 3-4 years and draws thousands of Deaf people from all around the world to the United States. Participants view exhibitions, classes, presentations and more.
In 2010, 2012, and 2016 I was part of the SWMI team. In 2016, our team saw 99 people pray to receive Christ! This year, I am excited to once again be part of the outreach team at the fourth DeafNation World Expo.
SWMI will have an official display and is now preparing a new evangelistic animated video to communicate the Gospel effectively to Deaf people! The SWMI team will distribute the video free at the DNWE. Please pray for the animation team to complete the video on time.
My financial need for this trip is $2100, which includes all expenses. If you can help, please make checks out to SWM and designate “Beam Mission Trip.” Checks are preferred, but you can also give online.
Send checks to: SWM • PO Box 889 • Trenton, GA 30752.

Thank you for all your support and prayers. May the Lord bless and protect you in the upcoming year. No matter what happens, God promised that His “grace is sufficient (enough) for thee” (2 Corinthians 12:9).
Praises & Prayer Requests:
- Praise the Lord – Another church recently voted to support my ministry!
- Please pray that God would give me wisdom and safety in attending SWM events, local Deaf socials, and continuing to raise support.
- The SWM Deaf Israel Tour group for 2021 was postponed until March 2022. Please pray for wisdom.
- Please pray that I will finish raising my support. I currently have 65% of my support.
Truly Blessed,
Tabitha Beam
