Waves of Fear
I love the beach! I love everything about it… seeing and hearing the waves and seagulls, feeling the sand, searching for shells and sea animals, smelling the air, watching the beautiful sun set above the ocean, even tasting the salt water (just a little). It’s so relaxing and peaceful – if it’s not too crowded. Often when I visit the beach, I will walk out into the water until it reaches my shoulders, then stop. Why? Because I can’t swim. I can’t even float. So I bounce along with the waves, always keeping my head above water and my feet able to touch the ocean floor. And I am constantly…

I Want to Be Deaf
Have you ever wanted to be deaf? Allen Snare, a deaf evangelist with SWM, told the story of a time when he was sitting in the swing outside the SWM office. The sun was shining, birds were flying, and Allen was enjoying God’s peaceful afternoon. Lessons From a Deaf/Blind Workshop
Ever try to make a sandwich when you CAN’T SEE? I did today. Attended a 7-hour workshop on working with Deaf/Blind individuals. Never Stop Improving!
Never Stop Improving: Why You Should Improve Your Signing Skills Imagine taking a trip to a foreign country. You do not know the language, so you are forced to rely on someone else to help you communicate. Would it matter to you if that person stayed true to the message you wanted to share? Would you care if the person expressed the feelings and exact meaning behind your statement? What if the other person misinterpreted your message, sounding bored or angry when you didn’t intend it that way? In today’s society, we have so many different ways of communicating through technology: phones, texting, email, instant messaging. But have you noticed…

“The Home Office Missionary”
Her position she should not take lightly. It is her job to shine most brightly. (Mt. 5:16)She ought to share a bright, warm smile,Bearing others’ burdens the extra mile. (Gal. 6:2; Mt. 5:41)To paperwork she’s not confined,Her job may yet be undefined. Though scrubbing floors and cleaning doorsMay not be quite her favorite chores,Yet things her hands may find to finish,Should then with all her might diminish. (Ecc. 9:10)She isn’t perfect, this she knows,Sometimes it seems her ignorance grows. So also should her heart’s surrender. (Prov. 23:26)May day by day her heart grow tender.Mistakes, for sure, are quite expected,But improvement ought not be neglected. So please be patient week by week,As she…
